What a contrast to Easter Monday 2014, Lydstep was my destination on that day, an eight hour round trip! This year, it was a short hop down the Fosse Way to Paxford, back home in time for tea! Lydstep was wonderful I might add, but next time I go I’m definitely staying over. Anyway, here we go again, not many words but lots of photos.
The title for this blog post mentions ‘old friends’, and here they are, Shane and Nikki Collins with their two boys
Dawn Bridgewater and her daughter, Iris
Jetnova, a star for the Smith-Maxwell family this season
Sunshine = a huge crowd
Proud mum (far right)
John Smith-Maxwell and his sisters
Now that’s how you celebrate!

Some of the most famous colours in pointing
A fairly easy day for the starter and his assistant
Abs Banks took the Ladies Open on Hall Kelly, beating her sister, Phine
Tom Weston took the Mens Open on Ice Cool Benny
Zara Phillips and Tom David
Mark Wall goes for the rugged look
The Equus Club get ready to celebrate after Stonefield won the AGA sponsored Restricted
Great to catch up with this old friend, Shane Collins, he used to drink in our boozer!
Ripper Rippon was on trophy duty (a favour for the AGA man)
I love this photo
Having been touched off in the Restricted, Zara and Tom were about to try again in the Open Maiden (Dolly Maude and Ripper were there to cheer them on)
A short head victory in the Open Maiden was consolation for a neck defeat in the Restricted
10 AGA points, it was so nearly 20!
Another good day with plenty of highlights, and those famous colours – worn by Major Harold Rushton and Pat Tollit – look great in the photos (just as well Philip Smith-Maxwell prompted me to take the pics!).
