AGA lady riders are ‘In Total Control’ at their end of season dinner party

The date: Friday 2nd August ♦ The venue: The Hart residence (thank you Helen & Chris) ♦ The location: Chipping Campden ♦ The participants: Seven top class lady riders ♦ The Organisers: The AGA man, Mrs S and an AGA Champion ♦ The tools: one AGA iTotal Control cooker in British Racing Green and various cameras, courtesy of Mrs Oliver and her assistant (Dave).

The result: A fabulous AGA Dinner Party!

Mrs S and Claire Hart put a pretty impressive menu together, and the plan was for our two AGA Champions – Claire Hart (2012) and Jane Williams (2013) – to show us what they were made of in the kitchen. That plan didn’t quite come off, although Claire did shell some peas! However, Phine Banks – 3rd in the AGA championship – was straight into the thick of the action with Mrs S, and the AGA was soon showing just why it is the best cooker in the world!

Keeping glasses topped up was my main role for the evening, but after a promising start I failed miserably! The AGA, however, did not fail, and we were soon being treated to a procession of mouth watering dishes.

What a treat for our lady riders, I’m certain the boys would have enjoyed it as well, maybe we should have invited some of them!

I made a couple of presentations to Hannah Lewis and Phine Banks – runner-up and third placed in the AGA iTotal Control Lady Riders’ Championship – and they were delighted with their prizes, each received a beautiful AGA Library Clock from AGA Cookshop.

The evening received a huge thumbs up from our lady riders, and they donned their special edition AGA polo shirts (only 20 of these were produced) to pose for a ‘thank you’ pic.

There are lots of great photos from the evening – most of which were kindly provided by Jackie Oliver – and you can check out the rest of her fantastic pics on her website. I will also create a gallery on a separate page on this blog so that you can view the rest of the pics, including a re-enactment of our ‘AGA mean girls’ pic, which was produced for our Irish point-to-point trip.

The AGA once again proved that it is the best cooker in the world and I am certain that anyone in the point-to-point community who doesn’t already own one will be reading this with envy. You know you want one.
