Some days you just have to ‘Gin and bear it’…

Delicious gin and tonic cake, anyone?

Farewell to the AGA final, it was fun while it lasted – will it be missed?

It was the end of an era for me last Friday at Stratford Racecourse and I enjoyed every minute of a long but happy day. The day started with the PPORA awards lunch and the Paddock Pavilion was bursting at the seams as 320 people gathered to listen to guest speaker, Nicky Henderson. He was followed by Luke Harvey – who hosted what […]

Lots of fun to be had with the AGA Jokers – for boys and girls!

My latest blog post takes a look at the new AGA Point-to-Point competition which will run throughout the season, with a special mention for the AGA Jokers! There’s also a look back at the Point-to-Point Authority Press and Media day, which took place on Thursday, 29th October at Stratford Racecourse. As ever, the story is brought to life with lots of photos. Enjoy!

National champions are saluted at Umberleigh, Olly bows out with a winner, we say a fond farewell to Robbie, and then the AGA man goes glamping!

When is the AGA man not the AGA man? Answer = never, although I’m not complaining! There was no AGA involvement at Umberleigh and this was a day out to enjoy the end of season party atmosphere, chat (lots), take photos, and yes, enjoy a drink or two. All of that was achieved and we […]

Video – The Mountain Warehouse Anglo-Irish Point-to-Point Challenge 2015, Chaddesley Corbett

This is a fabulous short film (accompanied by a fast paced soundtrack) which tells the story of an historic day at Chaddesley Corbett on Monday 25th May. The Albrighton & Woodland (South) hosted the Mountain Warehouse Anglo-Irish Point-to-Point Challenge, which also included the finale of the exciting AGA All Comers Championship. The film was made […]

Blog catch up time for the AGA man, starting at Chaddesley Corbett in April and finishing at Whitfield in May!

Good days, sunny days, windy days, fun days and long days, we’ve had them all during the last four weeks, and we’ve enjoyed every single one of them, starting at Chaddesley Corbett on 18th April and finishing at Whitfield on 17th May.

Spring sunshine, old friends and oh so close to a Royal AGA winner at Paxford

What a contrast to Easter Monday 2014, Lydstep was my destination on that day, an eight hour round trip! This year, it was a short hop down the Fosse Way to Paxford, back home in time for tea! Lydstep was wonderful I might add, but next time I go I’m definitely staying over. Anyway, here […]

Blue sky and sunshine at Brafield-on-the-Green for round 11 of the AGA All Comers championship

This is a fixture that I’ve always looked at and thought “I’d like to go there”, so we did, and what a glorious day! It was well organised, there were plenty of runners and I had lots of AGA colleagues with me. Anyway, that’s more than enough words, let’s have a look at some photos!

AGA champions That’s Rhythm and Page Fuller are ‘Still In Total Control’

A very busy week in the AGA world meant that my blog from the Vine & Craven has had to be put on hold until Saturday evening. That’s fine with me, although Mrs S has had to settle for The Voice and Casualty while I tap away on the keyboard, as opposed to a trip […]

Sunglasses required on a glorious day at Larkhill as Sarah Dawson increases her lead in the AGA All Comers championship

Five minutes after arriving I was scurrying back to the car to retrieve my sunglasses and my brand new selfie stick! Those who know me well will be aware that I rarely miss an opportunity for a selfie (or a piece of cake, Heather), but this particular selfie wasn’t my idea…

Work at Paul Webber Racing. Freelance photographer, Durham born & bred, support Sunderland AFC. I started taking pics as a hobby while managing an amateur horse racing sponsorship project for AGA and realised that my images gave me a means to tell a story, on social media and in my blog. Many times I was told that I had an eye for a good pic, coupled with a knack of being in the right place at the right time, so I decided to do something about it. I hope you enjoy the pics! Formerly known as the AGA man, love life, good food, travel, wine, gin & selfies. Also invented the AGA hat!
