Over six months after the event I’ve finally found the time to share this selection of images from the 2023 National Pony Society President’s Ball! When it took place in February this year I was around six weeks into my new role as part of the NPS office team and the ball (and preceding AGM) seemed like a great opportunity to get to know people, and of course take a few photographs.

The venue was the Warwickshire Golf & Country Club and a very reasonable £45 ensured you could partake of an excellent three course meal, dancing and entertainment! Hindsight is a wonderful thing, and I wish I’d captured more images from the evening, although the images I’m sharing here are enough to demonstrate that a fun filled evening was had by all!

The bids came in thick and fast in the auction and I had a quick whizz around the tables with my camera before the dancing started…

There were plenty of people happy to look down the lens, even if they were probably wondering who the smiley northern bloke was! I also caught a few candid moments and cheeky smiles, too.

The dance floor was calling for those who wanted to throw a few shapes (and dad dance), although it wasn’t calling me I hasten to add, as my forays onto the dance floor are few and far between these days. A complete lack of rhythm being the primary reason!

I do believe that the boss mentioned that she doesn’t really like having her photo taken but I thought I’d test the water (photo above) and the smile told me that I’d just about got away with it (although it has since been mentioned that she would rather I point the camera elsewhere).

This is a great photo and it’s also a great photo bomb! The dance floor was well populated throughout the evening and the eagle eyed among you may notice that the NPS Treasurer was in the thick of the action!

Since this shindig I’ve been able to get to know many of the people in these photos and have also had the chance to watch some of them compete. There are others who attended who didn’t feature and I’d like to apologise for that, but I will get you next time!

Thumbs up for a great evening, I think that’s a wrap! The 2024 AGM & Ball is being hosted by NPS Area 4 on 17 February at the Cedar Court Hotel in Harrogate, and something tells me it could be quite a lively evening!
