Chaddesley deliver another cracker!

It was another early start last Friday as we headed to Chaddesley Corbett loaded down with turkey rolls and leftover mince pies.

It’s almost 10.30, gin is being consumed, and has been for the past hour – only at a point-to-point!

There was a boatload of entries and it looked like being a cracker on paper – and that’s just how it turned out!

The source of a fair amount of the gin which was consumed throughout the morning and afternoon!

As ever, my account of the days events is fairly light hearted and I’ll let the pictures do the talking. A full list of the results can be viewed on the national point-to-point website by clicking here. There’s also a detailed report on the West Midlands point-to-point area website, click here to read it.

The first winner of the day was Myoldman – ear defenders were required in the paddock
Ear defenders were also required for this winner, and it would get louder as the day progressed (led by Clive Page)!
My cover star, Jon Hughes, who was having a rare foray into the pointing world (Jon runs Owners For Owners racehorse partnerships)
The Hardwick Happy Club
More gin please…

The action was completed with a second win of the day for the Ellis team, although plenty of people made the most of the conditions and the lorry park was buzzing for a good hour after racing had finished. Thank you and well done to Jim Squires and all of the team at Chaddesley for putting on another cracker!
